It’s a tale of role reversal in The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today (Dekiru Neko wa Kyou mo Yuuutsu).
Saku and Yukichi’s story isn’t set to premiere until July 7th, 2023, so we’ll have to do with this trailer until then.

The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today is a cute slice-of-life anime. It follows the skilled yet overworked office lady Saku Fukuzawa (voiced by Yui Ishikawa). She took in a tiny kitten during a colder season and dubbed him Yukichi. This little black puff ball quickly grew and can now tower over his owner on his hind legs. He now also possesses the ability to hold things with his paws.
Besides these traits, Yukichi (voiced by Hiroki Yasumoto) has a human-level intellect and communication ability. He takes care of the house, which includes cooking, cleaning, and even shopping. He also knows to go after sales. These skills, impressive for a cat, are typical of people. However, Saku lacks them, and she relies on Yukichi all the more. Fortunately, he cares for his owner.

The Masterful Cat Is Depressed Again Today began a strange domestic situation between a giant cat and its owner in the manga series written and illustrated by Hitsuji Yamada. Kodansha began publishing the series in their Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine on August 22nd, 2018, and has since released seven volumes for fans to purchase and collect.
