Rimuru deserves a vacation. He’s been through so much since reincarnating as a slime, and he’s long overdue for some beach fun with hot waifus. However, his fun ends when an ancient evil begins to churn beneath the waves. It’s up to Rimuru and his friends to save the day again! We’ll see how they face a glowing blue dragon that Konami will not mind when That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea (Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken Movie 2: Soukai no Namida-hen) premieres on February 27th, 2026. We’ll refer to it as TenSura Tears of the Azure Sea for brevity’s sake. Studio Eight Bit had the same idea when they released a shorter trailer.
Fuse and Mitz Vah released the original That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime light novel series between May 30th, 2014, and November 29th, 2025. Micro Magazine published all 22 volumes and two extras in the GC Novels imprint. Fuse and Taiki Kawakami released the manga adaptation on March 26th, 2015. Studio Eight Bit’s anime adaptation premiered on October 2nd, 2018.
TenSura Tears of the Azure Sea Cast
The slimy isekai protagonist and two of his cute friends are as follows:

- Rimuru Tempest — Miho Okasaki (Teruko from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba). Rimuru is the new slime form of a Japanese man. Reincarnated in a new world, evolution gave this slimy being a humanoid form.
- Hinata Sakaguchi — Manami Numakura (Brandish μ from Fairy Tail). Hinata is a ruthless girl also from Japan. She arrived in this new world with the same temperament, which became a boon for the Western Holy Church.
- Shion — M・A・O (Fumika Sagisawa in The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls). Shion is Rimuru’s First Secretary. Despite the mundane title, her skills lie more in combat than anything secretarial.
Studio Eight Bit maintains a home page, a movie home page, an Instagram page, a TikTok page, and a Twitter (X) page to promote TenSura Tears of the Azure Sea. You can find more information about the series and the key visuals at those sites.

Fun and Battles in the Sun with TenSura Tears of the Azure Sea
Satoru Mikami was an unassuming and mundane Japanese salaryman who didn’t even have a girlfriend. Yet he placed himself in harm’s way while meeting with his junior coworker and the coworker’s fiancée. Satoru took a knife stab to save his friend and breathed his last. Rather than seeing paradise, a voice greeted Satoru and offered him a chance at a new life. He was reborn as the world-changing slime Rimuru Tempest.

In more recent times, Elmesia El Ru Sarion invites Rimuru and his friends to a high-class beach resort. Their vacation gets livelier when Milim Nava, Veldora, Luminous, Ramiris, Hinata, and others join them for some fun in the sun. A mysterious woman named Yura appears before them, signaling an end to their fun times. She reveals her plans to subdue the ancient water dragon that has been attacking her home.
