Tearmoon Empire tells a tale of a selfish princess who met her end when a revolution overtook her empire. She faced execution, only to awaken in the past. Given a chance to avoid her fate, she works hard to change her image.
This series will premiere sometime in October 2023. Until then, we can enjoy a trailer.
Studio Silver Link has set up a promotional home page, and an official Twitter page, to keep fans and potential viewers up to date on further series announcements. Extra materials, such as the key visual seen below, can be found there.
Revolution & Rebirth
Tearmoon Empire follows the story of the titular empire’s only heir, a selfish princess named Mia Luna Tearmoon (voiced by Sumire Uesaka). Her empire fell to revolutionaries when she reached the age of 20. Right as the guillotine’s blade reached her neck, she awoke in her bed, eight years in the past. Once again at the age of 12, she retained her memories of the future, and decided there and then to change her fate, and the fate of the entire empire.
Mia has two people around her that are absolutely loyal, the maid Anne Littstein (voiced by Tomori Kusunoki), who also acts as her right hand, and Ludwig Hewitt (voiced by Yuichiro Umehara) Mia’s left hand and a member of the Golden Moon Ministry. Anne and Lugwig were the only two people to stay with Mia when she met her end in the previous timeline, and they remain her steadfast companions in the present day. Together, the most selfish princess in history will be given the title of sage as she leads her people into a new future.

TO Books acquire the rights and hired the artist Glise to turn the series into a light novel. The new run began to publish their adaptation on June 10th, 2019, and has since seen twelve volumes released.
The artist Mizu Morino was later hired to help adapt Tearmoon Empire to manga form, which was later published on August 12th, 2019, with five volumes currently available for purchase.
If you happen to be in the mood for more princess action, the new and improved J-List shop has you covered. Princess Waltz is a high-scale romance and “cultured” game with plenty of princesses to romance. There’s also a card game in there that looks pretty fun.
