The popular anime series My Hero Academia had recently announced on the “2019 Plus Ultra Stage” during AnimeJapan 2019 that the series will be receiving a second animated film which will hit Japanese theaters this Winter.
The announcement also revealed that My Hero Academia original manga author Kohei Horikoshi will be supervising and providing original character designs. Kenji Nagasaki, who directed the first three seasons of the anime series and first film will be directing the second film. Yosuke Kuroda will be directing the screenplay. Joining them will be the anime series character designer Yoshihiko Umakoshi, and Yuuki Hayashi will be the soundtrack composer on the film project.

The anime series first animated film My Hero Academia: Two Heroes was released in Japan on August 3, 2018 and has since earned 1.67 billion yen (approximately US$14.47 million) in Japan.
The My Hero Academia anime series first season originally ran on April 3 to June 26, 2016, with the second season from April 1 to September 30 in 2017 and a third April 7 to September 29th in 2018. Kohei Horikoshi launched the manga series, My Hero Academia, in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, in July 2014. The manga’s 22nd compiled book volume was published by Shueisha on February 4, 2019. Viz Media is publishing the manga in English digitally and in print. The manga has also inspired two spin-off mangas, the My Hero Academia: Vigilantes and My Hero Academia: Smash!! which Viz Media is releasing in English.
The manga series fourth season is slated to air this October.

In a world where superpowers known as “Quirks” grant great power to their bearers, Midoriya has risen from being a Quirkless young boy to a resilient hero-in-training, working alongside his peers at U.A. High School in hopes of one day becoming a true superhero.
