2021’s most relaxing anime, where “cute girls do cute things,” is finally making its grand reappearance. Rin Shima, Nadeshiko Kagamihara, and their friends return to their famous camping exploits. Laid-Back Camp (Yuru Camp) is an iyashikei series, a sub-genre of slice of life, where people live out their calming and peaceful lives. Rin, Nadeshiko, and their friends travel around Japan to camp out in nature. We’ll see where they go next when their camping trips resume sometime in 2027.

Afro released the original Laid-Back Camp manga series in July 2015. Houbunsha has published eighteen volumes in Manga Time Kirara Forward. Studio C-Station’s anime adaptation premiered on January 4th, 2018. TV Tokyo’s live-action adaptation premiered on January 10th, 2020.
Laid-Back Camp Cast
Three of the cute campers are as follows:
- Nadeshiko Kagamihara — Yumiri Hanamori (Hinaki Ubuyashiki from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba). Nadeshiko wanted to see Mt. Fuji after she moved to Yamanashi.
- Rin Shima — Nao Toyama (Takao and Atago from Kantai Collection). Rin is a regular camper.
- Mei Nakatsugawa — Kokoa Amano (Ureirika from Overlord III). Mei is a new member of the Outdoor Activities Club.

Laid-Back Camp Under Mt. Fuji’s Gaze
Rin Shima regularly visits Lake Motosu to enjoy the campsite and the majestic views of Mt. Fuji. She made the smart move to visit during the off-season to avoid the crowds and cheaper costs per night. It’s during the most recent visit that she meets a strange girl who has fallen asleep on a bench in the cold. She finally awakens at night and begs for Rin’s help.
Nadeshiko Kagamihara recently moved to Yamanashi, and she wanted to see the same scene of Mt. Fuji that people see on the ¥1,000 bill. Seeing the mountain and experiencing outdoor camping inspires Nadeshiko to join her new school’s Outdoor Activities Club. She takes to it with glee, and she’s excited to reunite with Rin. These cute girls will do cute things, like rough it out in the woods using actual, real-world techniques.
