Minato received the (seemingly) dull task of caring for an abandoned manor. This place is so far out in the countryside that it took him an hour to find someone to ask for directions. Minato discovers early on that something is wrong with the manor. Fortunately for him, a local mountain god explains why his handwritten notes begin to fade. We’ll see how his caretaking job goes when Kusunoki’s Garden of Gods (Kami no Niwatsuki Kusunoki-tei) premieres sometime in April 2026.
Enju and ox released the original Kusunoki’s Garden of Gods light novel series on November 17th, 2021. ASCII Media Works has published ten volumes in the Dengeki no Shin Bungei imprint.
Kusunoki’s Garden of Gods Cast
The unaware exorcist and two of his new friends are as follows:

- Minato Kusunoki — Shogo Sakata (Modaka from Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Girls in a Dungeon?). Minato is the new caretaker of a manor with hidden spiritual abilities.
- Yamagami — Shinshu Fuji (Walter De Lament from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom). Yamagami is the local mountain god whom Minato unintentionally saved.
- Saiga Harima — Yuichiro Umehara (Sekido from Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba). Saiga is a professional omnyoji who has taken an interest in Minato’s abilities.
Studio Gekkou maintains a home page and a Twitter (X) page to promote Kusunoki’s Garden of Gods. You can find more information about the series and the key visuals at those sites.

Kusunoki’s Garden of Gods Invites the Divinity to Stay a While
Minato Kusunoki’s father raised him to believe in spirits and gods. He kept those stories close to his heart as he grew up. Now — sometime after his death — Minato’s charge is caring for a mansion his father worked on. The mansion is in a remote spot in the countryside, where he had to wait an hour for directions. His guide poked fun at him for using a map drawn on a memo pad rather than a smartphone’s built-in map and GPS.

Minato’s preference for written notes unintentionally saves him. The mere act of writing a series of notes on paper slips and placing them on the wall creates omnyoji talismans that gradually purify the manor of its dark aura. He unintentionally frees the local mountain god Yamagami. The god praises his efforts and shares a drink and snack with him. Yamagami becomes the first god to visit his home and find respite.
