Kaguya’s love war against Miyuki ended some time ago. They went on amazing adventures while attending Shuchiin Academy, and they would cherish those memories. Looking back, Kaguya and Miyuki had just shared their first kiss. We’ll see how the future takes shape when Kaguya-sama Love Is War: The Stairway to Adulthood (Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Otona e no Kaidan) premieres on December 31st, 2025. What better way to ring in the new year than with a new Kaguya-sama anime special?
Aka Akasaka released the original Kaguya-sama Love Is War (Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Ren’ai Zunosen) manga series between May 19th, 2015, and November 2nd, 2022. A-1 Pictures’s anime adaptation premiered on January 12th, 2019. Toho Pictures’s live-action adaptation premiered on September 6th, 2019.
Kaguya-sama Love Is War: The Stairway to Adulthood Cast
The two warring factions and one of their cute friends are as follows:
- Kaguya Shinomiya — Aoi Koga (Kiwi Araga / Leopard from Gushing over Magical Girls). Kaguya is the titular character and vice president of the student council. Her family owns a massively influential zaibatsu.
- Miyuki Shirogane — Makoto Furukawa (Rider of Red/Achilles from Fate/Apocrypha). Miyuki is the president of the academy’s student council. His home life isn’t as shiny or glamorous as his academic life.
- Chika Fujiwara — Konomi Kohara (Arona from Blue Archive the Animation). Chika has been Kaguya’s best friend since middle school. She exercises her pink hair power on Shuchiin Academy’s student council.

Kaguya Shinomiya looks back upon her youthful adventures years after they ended. She flips through a photo album and recalls the fun times she shared with her friends and her rival/love interest. Their war began in earnest when rumors spread suggesting that Kaguya and the student council president, Miyuki Shirogane, were dating. It made sense to their admirers. Kaguya comes from a wealthy and influential family, while Miyuki stands as a proven academic genius.
Kaguya and Miyuki do oppose the idea of dating. Instead, they see it as war, where the first to confess loses and ends up at the bottom. So, they match wits each day to make the other fall in love and start a relationship. Their first battle takes place over a pair of movie tickets that Chika Fujiwara offers them. But Kaguya secretly purchased and slipped them into Chika’s mailbox to set up the campaign.
