Think back to your third year of high school… what were you doing with your free time? In my case, I was mindlessly consuming anime with no regard for what I was going to do with all the almost useless knowledge I was absorbing into my brain. That’s not the case for third-year high school student and Twitter user @roa27379771 who decided to build his own giant moving Zaku II Gundam from Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin. Now, I can already hear you thinking that the original Gundam in question was over 50 feet tall, so how big could this one be? How does 1:10 scale grab you?
Over the last few months, @roa27379771 has been posting periodic updates on his built from scratch creation using CAD software and a 3D printer. Take a look at a few of the updates that they posted to Twitter over a period of six months or so.

As you can see in the above videos, the attention to detail is nothing to scoff at and the fact that this high school student is also taking care of all the wiring in order to make it move is damned impressive!
As noted in the original report, it’s worth going back through @roa27379771’s history, as this isn’t the first working anime replica they’ve made. Take a look at this working gear from Attack on Titan for instance!

I can only hope that this high school student is already being scouted by top companies in Japan or even around the world. This is more than a labor of love. This is a labor of commitment and dedication that many of us couldn’t even possibly dream of achieving. Good luck to you, @roa27379771 in all of your future endeavors and I hope you keep on doing what you’re doing even after you leave your school years.
