After a six-year serialization run, Yuu Hashimoto’s 2.5 Dimensional Seduction manga is coming to an end. Shueisha (the manga’s publisher) announced that the manga will conclude in four chapters. 2.5 Jigen no Ririsa‘s 200th volume will be its last.
2.5 Dimensional Seduction Deets
Yuu Hashimoto writes and illustrates the 2.5 Dimensional Seduction manga. Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ began serializing the rom-com, ecchi manga in June 2019. The publisher has compiled the manga into 24 tankoubon volumes. Seven Seas Entertainment releases the 2.5 Dimensional Seduction in English in North America.
J.C. Staff adapted the manga into a 24-episode TV anime directed by Hideki Okamoto. Aiming and Team Caravan adapted the series into an RPG mobile and PC game titled 2.5 Dimensional Seduction: Angels on Stage! (2.5 Jigen no Ririsa: Tenshi-tachi no Stage). The game launched in September 2024 and centers on cosplay battles. The game is currently available in its original Japanese version as well as English and Chinese versions (both of which will cease operation in January).
Synopsis
Masamune Okumura is what you get when you think of an unpopular weeb. After a single negative-outcome confession, Masamune retreated into the 2D world and fixated on anime girls.
By his second year of high school, Masamune is the president of his school’s manga club and is obsessed with the character Liliel. Unconcerned with the non-2D world, Masamune lives an isolated existence until the 3D world comes calling via a cosplayer named Ririsa. Not only is Ririsa a filthy cosplaying weeb, but she only cosplays her favorite character: Liliel! And the moment the otaku beauty realizes she and Masamune share an oshi, she asks for his help. Masamune was initially hesitant about welcoming Ririsa into his club and his personal life. But as the duo dives into the world of cosplay, and they become increasingly closer, he realizes that the 3D world isn’t as terrible as it seems.
