Big news for magical girl fans out of the Crunchyroll camp!
On Tuesday, June 23rd, Crunchyroll started revealing its summer simulcast lineup and catalog additions on their official blog. It was a pretty typical announcement post, which didn’t call attention to any single title above any of the others, so you’d be forgiven if you completely missed the big announcement made sneakily in the post: Crunchyroll will stream Precure!
In the post, it was revealed that at a yet to be determined time, Crunchyroll will add Toei Animation’s Healin’ Good Precure to their catalog, which is pretty sweet if you’re a fan of the franchise!
Healin’ Good Precure is the seventeenth season of the series focusing on the fifteenth generation of the franchise’s magical girls. Originally airing in February 2020, this season of Precure has Yoko Ikeda as its director working off scripts written by Junko Komura. The primary cast for this season reads as (character names first):
Nodoka Hanadera: Aoi Yuki
Chiyu Sawaizumi: Natsu Yorita
Hinata Hiramitsu: Hiyori Kono
Asumi Furin: Suzuko Mimori
Asahi TV describes the story of this Precure season as:
The Healin’ Garden, a secret world where Earth is healed, is under attack by the Byougenzu, who are trying to infect the Earth.
In order to salve it, three medical trainees of Earth, the Healin’ Animals, along with Latte, the little princess of the Healin’ Garden who holds a special power, escaped in search of their partners!
Now, three ordinary girls are able to transform into Pretty Cure with the power of the Healin’ Animals and fight against the Byougenzu!
The Pretty Cure are in charge of defending Latte and the precious Earth and all her creatures by taking care of them.
As mentioned, this is a big deal for magical girl fans as Precure is one of the most popular franchises of the genre! Let’s hope that this opens the door for more seasons to be added to Crunchyroll in the future!
