Digimon Con 2025 Returns Us to the Digital World

Digimon fans don’t get much love, especially here in the West. That changed during Digimon Con 2025 when our hopes and dreams had come true. A new RPG, a new digital TCG, a teaser for the next anime series, and the bridge to Digimon Adventure‘s original ending. There’s an archive for those who missed the livestream.

There was so much packed in three hours. It more than made up for the large gap between Digimon video games.

Look Beyond Adventure

Let’s talk quickly about that Digimon Adventure segment. Old school Digidestined like myself lost our collective minds. Unfortunately, it’s just a PV and not a complete series. Still, it was better than nothing.

They didn’t forget the children who grew up with the series because they released a special trailer with different evolution scenes throughout the anime’s history.

Investigate the Truth in Digimon Story Time Stranger

We finally got a new entry in the Digimon Story series! Time Stranger is coming sometime in 2025, and you can add it to your Wishlist right now.

Players can choose between the male protagonist, Dan Yuki, or the female protagonist, Kanan Yuki. Whoever they don’t choose becomes the “operator,” the person who gives exposition.

Players will act as agents of ADAMAS investigating a mysterious incident that involves digital creatures. They’ll explore Japan, specifically Shinjuku and Akihabara, and the Digital World: Iliad. A tragic explosion will catch Yuki and propel them eight years into the past. They’ll partner with Patamon, Gomamon, or Pico Devimon on their adventure. Those are just three of the estimated 450 Digimon to befriend. The developers have updated older models, so Digi-Waifus, like Angewomon, will look even better. A special trailer displaying special moves showcases this.

Play Cards in Digimon Alysion

We can’t forget the Digimon TCG, can we? The developers have announced a new free-to-play game with new digital friends.

There’s no release date yet, but they confirmed a closed beta test, so let’s keep an eye open for that.

Explore Emotions in Digimon Beatbreak

Last but certainly not least, the new anime series!

Details are scarce right now. Digimon Beatbreak will premiere sometime in October 2025, and “emotion-devouring digital lifeforms” will factor into the series.
