While Spy x Family might have my attention, for now, I’m not entirely sure if it will ever steal my heart how the first season of The Devil is Part-Timer did oh so many years ago. That’s why I’m so incredibly excited to report on this brand new promotional video for season two, which reveals more plot details and a premiere date!
Now, if you’ll excuse the rudeness, I’d like to talk directly to the segment of the audience who have already seen the first season of this series. Don’t worry, I’ll come back around to the people who haven’t seen this series as yet.
As you saw in the promotional video posted above, in the second season of The Devil is a Part-Timer!! we get a new character in the form of a young child. While I won’t reveal the details of who this child is or how she arrives in Sasazuka, I will say that she’s going to be pivotal to the rest of the series, so you’ll want to pay close attention to her. Other highlights coming our way in the second season include the origin story of Maou in Ente Isla and some additional details regarding the mysterious landlady.
For those of you who have never watched this series before, I urge you to give this series a chance before the second season premieres next month. Now available on Crunchyroll in both dubbed and subbed formats (thanks to the Funimation migration), now is the perfect time to catch this comedic gem.
Premiering on July 14th, 2022, the new season of The Devil is a Part-Timer (officially titled The Devil is a Part-Timer!!) will feature a returning voice cast but an only partially new production staff. That’s admirable, considering how hard it must have been to get that many people from nine years ago to come back to the series.
That said, taking over for studio White Fox to produce the sequel’s animation will be studio 3Hz with Daisuke Tsukushi serving as the director. The new character designer is Yūdai Iino. Other than that, the staff remains the same as in the first season, with Masahiro Yokotani overseeing the series scripts.
