Today’s article is dedicated to the inventor of copy and paste. It’s thanks to this intrepid soul that I am able to insert the title Yusha Party o Tsuihou Sareta Beast Tamer, Saikyo Shuzoku Nekomimi Shojo to Deau (Literal translation: The Beast Tamer Who Was Exiled from His Party Meets a Cat Girl From the Strongest Race) into this piece without having to type it repeatedly by hand.
With that dedication out of the way… Crunchyroll is getting a head start on the fall 2022 anime season by revealing that they have acquired the streaming rights for the upcoming series that they are simply calling Beast Tamer in the following regions: North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS. To celebrate the announcement, the streaming giant also released an English subtitled promotional video that reveals some basic plot points and character art.
As you can see by the promotional video, the plot of this series is fairly straightforward; a young man named Rein (voiced by Shoya Chiba) is booted out of his adventuring party for being useless. After rescuing and forming a bond with a cat girl named Kanade (Azumi Waki), he gains some of her powers and becomes slightly stronger. As they two adventure together, Rein will continue to make new friends, form new bonds, and become increasingly stronger.
In terms of the crew bringing this one to life; the animation will be produced by studio EMT Squared with Atsushi Nigorikawa serving as the director. He’ll be working off series composition created by Takashi Aoshima, character designs provided by Shuhei Yamamoto, and background music composed by the team of Yuki Hayashi, Alisa Okehazama, and Naoyuki Chikatani.
Originally a light novel series, Beast Tamer started on a popular novel submission site in Japan before being acquired and published by Kodansha, starting in May 2019. As of November 2021, the series is up to seven volumes in Japan. As of this writing, no one has the English rights to Beast Tamer.
