There’s always something so appealing about highschool flings and affairs. Just as there is plenty of anime and manga set in the youthful days of high school, so too are there a heaping helping of hentai revolved around the budding sexual advances of the youth. Wild at School! makes good on its name, delivering plenty of sexy and unforgettable stories focused on the erotic antics of uniform-wearing high school cuties.
It isn’t just school stories from cover to cover, though. Over the course of 12 chapters and a beefy 218 pages, artist Bota Mochito delivers a variety of other thrilling tales of sexual escapades. Whether it’s at a shrine on holiday, in the middle of an office or even during a detective stake-out, there are plenty of other stories of sexual deviancy in Wild at School! that is sure to keep readers entertained. While the kinds of characters and situations in the school-focused chapters are varied enough to keep things fresh, I was happy to see a bunch of other settings and situations sprinkled throughout the book.
Even with a unique assortment of locales and story setups, though, Wild at School! maintains a consistently humorous and playfully erotic tone throughout. Male characters will have consistently outrageous and extremely detailed facial expressions that harken back to old-school comedies like Golden Boy, fueling the fires of the slapstick comedy that lays the foundation for the naughty action of each chapter. A muscle-bound virgin being exorcised by a busty shrine-maiden or a popular ko-gal obsessing over the gloomy nerd boy that she inadvertently bullies are just a few of the scenarios in this volume that inevitably end up leading to sweet, sexy action between the main characters.
It would be hard to deliver on the equal helpings of comedic action and sexual adventures of Wild at School! if Bota Mochito wasn’t a capable artist. Thankfully, his art is consistently expressive and incredibly sexy. Admittedly, Bota Mochito doesn’t have an instantly iconic or recognizable art style. Despite that, though, it’s easy to spot the care and detail put into each page. Panel layouts are incredibly well done, with hilarious pages like a tennis player freaking out after losing his game as the girls watch on with their faces covered being amplified by the wonderful facial expressions and poses. There’s also an incredible amount of detail put into minor things like the texture of girls’ stockings or the folds on a skirt that help elevate the art.
Then there are the sex scenes, which are just as satisfying as the comedy aspects of Wild at School!. Each of the women in this anthology is tall, curvy and oh so juicy, rocking dynamite bodies and wonderful breasts that constantly spill out of their clothes. Once they’re undressed and ready for action, the plushness of their bodies and the tender softness of their breasts and butts practically left me drooling. It would have been nice to see some more variety in the body types featured in the manga, but Bota Mochito excels at consistently drawing these bombshell women in erotic poses and dynamic sexual positions that left me pleased as punch.
The lack of variety in body types honestly didn’t even stick out to me at first, thanks to the wonderfully unique character designs for the women of each Wild at School! story. From shy alien girls with platinum hair and horns to smug student council presidents with twin-tail hair, every story in the manga had a fresh protagonist with their own style and personality that helped keep things constantly changing. It’s a shame that the men of the book couldn’t get the same treatment. There’s certainly some variation in the male protagonists’ designs, with one being a muscle-bound hunk and another being a tall and slender detective with a cocky face. For the most part, though, the boys in the book are nearly identical highschoolers with average builds, generic faces and shared haircuts. The lack of variety is hilariously put into perspective in a full-color illustration at the beginning of the book that features every boy in the manga being abducted by a UFO together. Acting primarily as a creative table of contents, it also serves to show how the only thing setting most of these guys apart from each other is the color of their hair.
One of my favorite chapters of Wild at School! is probably Stone-Faced Detective All-Knight Scoop. In this, seasoned private detective Ouda Gouta is on a stakeout of potential suspects with his beautiful and busty junior, Sohara Aiko. They’ve been on a weeklong undercover case, pretending to be the newlywed next-door neighbors of their suspects as they monitor their activity and conversations throughout the day. Aiko is incredibly talented and hard-working, but her stone-faced and unemotional demeanor makes it hard for Gouda to feel like he’s in charge. When our private eye overhears the neighbors beginning to suspect that the supposed newlyweds might be cops considering they’ve lived there a week without making any kind of noise, Gouda thinks fast. He pleads with Aiko to let out some sexy sounds to ward off the suspicion of their targets, and she lashed out in anger when her awful attempt is met with jokes by Gouda. She lets out a kick, accidentally falling into his lap, and from there the two start letting out much more natural sexy sounds for their neighbors to hear.
It’s a sexy, funny adventure that combines all of the best elements of what makes Wild at School! such a memorable book. The smarmy and confident attitude of Gouda contrasts nicely with the stone-faced shyness of Aiko, but once they get going and the roles swap back and forth, things get incredibly sexy in an utterly memorable way. All of Wild at School! is like that, with funny and absurd scenarios that inevitably lead to incredibly erotic sex scenes featuring busty, beautiful women.
