After she joins the judo club, Nagatoro worries about Senpai when a buxom junior girl enters the art club.
Episode 10 — “Hachiouji-Senpai Taught Me a Lot”
Hmm.
Nagatoro faces a relationship issue with consequences this week in Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro. No, it’s not having another top-heavy nudist ready to throw her clothes off at any moment. The art club president had been doing that in Senpai’s face for years, and it didn’t affect him. So, the younger cousin’s proclivities and competitiveness keep in place a nagging source of jealousy for Nagatoro. The problem for Senpai and Nagatoro’s growing relationship is their schedule change. She joined the judo club, meaning she can’t bother Senpai and model for him after school as she used to do. Will Senpai’s feelings grow colder if she’s not there to share little moments that make their hearts go “doki-doki?” And Nagatoro might start missing him and become sad.
But can the adage “absence makes the heart grow fonder” work in Nagatoro’s favor? Since Nagatoro can’t “accidentally” hang out with Senpai anymore, she’ll have to make appointments to see him. That’s called dating, folks! Instead of making Nagatoro’s heart grow fonder, the after-school separation can nudge her feelings for Senpai out in the open. But before Miss Nagatoro starts showing lovey-dovey scenes of a healthy boyfriend-girlfriend relationship, it will make mountainous jokes about Sunomiya’s oppai and naturist tendencies. Can Nagatoro’s flat justice defeat Sunomiya’s heaving plot when the tanned girl is not even in the room? Senpai is in for more tough teasing times!
Heh.
Whoa! Miss Nagatoro goes straight into the opening credits. No time for a prologue because there’s too much PLOT! Sakura cherry trees in full bloom, signaling spring and the new school year. The art club needs new members, but will Nagatoro approve them? Senpai wants to start the new year with an inspirational painting, so he needs a matching subject. Come on. We know what will be on that canvas — more like who. Senpai is still reeling from Nagatoro’s prize of a kiss. She must be toying with his feelings again! Nagatoro knows what “creepy Senpai” wants from his muse. Look! Progress! Senpai asked Nagatoro to model for him so quickly and confidently. She can’t refuse him when he acts like this.
Wow! Miss Nagatoro starts the school year right! I hope it’s warm enough in the art club room for Nagatoro’s competition swimsuit. She knows what he likes and will give it to him! Senpai has a decision — should he tell Nagatoro’s backstory or flaunt her flat justice? Nagatoro stands for justice! Oh, she’s sitting for that pose. Never mind. Nagatoro has to take a break from all that ogling, but we know she loves it. Oh yes! We’ll get backstory too! A back massage behind closed doors while wearing a skin-tight swimsuit: that’s a pervy manga scenario! Hahaha! Nagatoro is so thirsty for Senpai laying his hands on her body.
Aw. Senpai and Nagatoro’s golden time couldn’t last forever. She’s joining the judo club, meaning he can’t rub her stiff butt muscles anymore. I mean, paint her anymore! She wants to beat Orihara and get Senpai’s kiss. And Nagatoro will not take no for an answer. I loved the squealing and dialogue throughout this entire exchange. Hey, wait! Senpai can’t kiss her yet; Nagatoro first has to defeat Orihara in a judo match. And Miss Nagatoro drops a mini-nuke bombshell in the middle of chaos.
Har. We had 22 episodes of this anime before we learned Senpai’s full name. Naoto Hachiouji. Senpai’s name, 直人 (naoto), means “ordinary person or untitled individual.” His family name, 八王子 (hachiouji), could mean “eighth prince.” And the miniature version of the art club president knew that name! Nagatoro’s danger sense activated. The eye-catchers show Nagatoro hiding her swimsuit for future use and her examination of the mini-art club president.
Ooh. Senpai was also “senpai” to Sunomiya in junior high school. She’s the cousin to the art club president, explaining the uncanny resemblance. Nagatoro’s jealousy levels are rising! Ominous Nagatoro facial expressions are the best. Senpai can’t accurately introduce Nagatoro because he isn’t yet sure what their relationship is. Who’s toying with whom now, Miss Nagatoro? Sunomiya cut right to it: she overheard them talking about kissing, so are they in a relationship? Emotional explosion!
Yay! Squiggly Nagatoro joined by squiggly Sunomiya! Uh oh. Senpai and Nagatoro realized they won’t be spending as much time together anymore. Melancholy. Hah! Gamou knows how to close the distance between the clumsy couple. Violent overreactions! Perhaps Nagatoro’s misgivings are warranted because Sunomiya is as much a nudist as her older cousin!
I like how Miss Nagatoro shows that Gamou and Nagatoro need to improve their judo skills to beat their seniors. Senpai’s Nagatoro portraits read like a recap for the last two seasons. Sunomiya noticed his progress from drab to colorful. Hahaha! The younger cousin says the same outrageous things as the art club president! Nagatoro is Senpai’s goddess! Sunomiya is not wrong. At the dojo, Orihara noticed Nagatoro’s preoccupation. The tanned minx might lose her precious boyfriend to a busty bunny! Besides, Nagatoro isn’t Senpai’s goddess. She’s his haunting demoness!
Gamou and Orihara have too much fun teasing Nagatoro about her feelings. Nagatoro arrived at her decision: she’ll practice judo and toy with Senpai. The baka couple’s friends got the wrong idea about them right. Hey, Sunomiya casually outed the art club president’s name: Sana. Putting that aside! Senpai misses Nagatoro, but what can they do? Sunomiya has the solution — just date already!
Next time, President Sana returns to give love advice and to wear tight leather.
