Move out of the way Kantai Collection, the new ship-girl collecting game is here! Azur Lane (or Azure Lane), developed by Manjuu and Yongshi, is basically the updated KanColle we’ve been waiting for. It’s got that mix of KanColle and Warship Girls that really sets it apart from other clones.
Azur Lane already established large userbase within a few months of release; it’s ranked at #6 in the Gpara’s rankings for iOS top-selling games in Japan. The reason it’s so popular? Cute ship girls and actual game play! Control the ship girls you collect in an organized fleet formation in this side-scrolling bullet hell mobile game. If the gameplay isn’t something you’re really interested in then don’t worry, there’s still an automated feature that does the work for you if you prefer to sit back and relax.
With the new marriage system implemented into the game, fans are going enjoy raising their favorite ship’s affection points to marry them. There’s even a ceremony event to really try and immerse you in the game when you marry the best ship girl(s) (you can actually marry more than one if you have a big enough wallet).
Marrying certain girls results in a new CG and outfit. Not limited to select girls, upon marrying one you will get a certificate of marriage — further adding to the authenticity. There’s actually a lot to do in this game and I have only just recently started playing it myself. It’s free to play and definitely worth checking out if you like cute ship girls and bullet hell games.
