Hey everybody! I’m Clea, the translator for the latest title from monoceros+ and JAST, Amayakase – Spoiling My Silver-Haired Girlfriend. I’m here to share a little bit about this fun visual novel game, which was released today over on the JAST Store! This was my first project with JAST, so I’m pretty excited to be able to tell you about it personally!
First up, let’s talk a bit about the title. It’s an eroge featuring—as the title implies—a cute girl with silver hair. However, the word “spoiling” in this case doesn’t mean you’re telling her who lives and who dies in all the latest (and seasonally-appropriate!) spooky horror movies. Rather, you’ll be “spoiling” her by fawning over her and giving her lots of attention! That’s a running theme through this game, as well as the meaning of the Japanese half of the title. Considering that Amayakse is releasing simultaneously in English and Japanese (more on that later), we thought it would be cool to keep both the title and its meaning consistent across languages.
The story begins with you, our overworked (and nameable!) protagonist. After returning home from another grueling day at work, you discover a beautiful silver-haired girl at your doorstep. You quickly learn that, due to a wacky-yet-plausible series of events, your older sister has suddenly left her daughter Anya in your care. As a very sweet and thoughtful girl, Anya is naturally reluctant to become a burden on you. She wants to help you out any way that she can, from cooking to cleaning to just being a shoulder—or lap, as it turns out—to lean on.
Of course, this is an eroge, so what else is a guy to do but to develop a crush on his extremely cute niece? That’s the only logical conclusion, isn’t it? Eventually, after holding it back for so long, you can’t help but masturbate while thinking of her, and… gosh, dang it! She walks in on you, when your wiener’s out and everything! But, in a twist that will undoubtedly shock you for a lifetime… it turns out to be mutual attraction, so you have sex with her!
You know, just normal family things.
If all that setup has you expecting the story to take a sudden dark turn or something… well, it doesn’t. You know all those super-hardcore games that just keep throwing bizarre fetishes at you until you give up? Games that come with whole lists of content disclaimers? Well, if that sort of thing just isn’t your bag, Amayakase might be for you! Aside from the light incest (and one very special scene), it’s just a whole bunch of earnest, pure, fluffy sex between two people who love each other very much. No specific kink is a barrier to entry here — all you need is a desire to hug Anya.

Personally, as the translator for this game, it’s beyond cool to know that Amayakase will be releasing in both Japanese and English at the same time, allowing fans all across the world to be able to play it! Localization for visual novels and eroge usually can’t start until well after the Japanese release, which could be months or even years after the fact. However, thanks to a close partnership between monoceros+ and JAST, we’re able to release this title simultaneously! I’m honestly thrilled to have been a part of it.
