Shinjuku was welcomed with a gory incident on Thursday when a 21-year-old woman identified as Yuka Takaoka was arrested for attempted murder on a male acquaintance. The incident happened in her own apartment located in the mentioned district. It was revealed that the alleged suspect used a kitchen knife to commit the bloody crime.
According to police reports, they received a call around 4 p.m. Japan Standard Time from Takaoka saying that she stabbed a man in the stomach. The man’s name was not identified but authorities have said that the victim appears to be in-between 20s to 30s. Authorities arrived at the scene seeing the victim and Takaoka covered in blood. Takaoka was squatting next to him while having a cigarette and using her phone.
The man had two stabs in his abdomen and was rushed to the hospital on the same day in critical condition. News reports say that the victim used the elevator to go to the ground floor then Takaoka sat beside him while she contacted the police.
The news report by TV Asahi revealed that Takaoka stated this:
“I liked him so much, I couldn’t help it.”
She then continued by saying that she planned to commit suicide after she successfully killed him. The Tokyo Metropolitan Police is now currently investigating this incident and to what had started this.
