By now you’ve most likely heard of maid cafés, where waitresses are dressed in maid costumes act as servants, and treat customers as masters (and mistresses) in a private home, rather than as café patrons. They’ve become one of the more famous images of modern Japan. But what if I told you, you can have your own cute maid help you pump iron at the gym?
The first maid gym to ever exist will be located in Akihabara, Japan. That is once the crowdfunding campaign is over, but given that it has already raised 110% of its target with more than enough time to spare, we think it’s safe to say that well-toned buff otaku will be swarming Akihabara in the near future.
The workout area will only have enough room for three people working out at a time (each with their own personal maid trainer).
Registering for membership will set you back ¥10,000 ($87.29 USD), while a 50-minute session is expected to cost around ¥7,500 ($65.46 USD), which includes a beverage. As far as gyms in Tokyo go, it’s not cheap but neither is it going to break the bank.
