What’s a man to do when his idol research club is being shut down because he’s the only member? Jerk off. Wait! No, too much wanking was the problem. The solution is to recruit a small army of idols to put on a sexy performance at the school festival, justifying the club’s existence. This is the premise of the doujinshi Idol Club! (KARI). Interested in how a school pervert becomes a top idol producer for over a dozen of his hottest peers, and one teacher? Then read on.
No girlfriend? No problem! April 14 is Black Day in South Korea, when single men mark the occasion by eating black noodles. Death of an Idol Club
Ito Sukai is a top-level pervert. When we meet him, he’s self-gratifying to idol swimsuit shots, alone in the idol research club room. He seems to have no plans or ambitions beyond gooning. He doesn’t understand why people find him creepy, despite his openly touching himself so liberally that everyone knows he does it, even in classrooms. And he doesn’t seem to know why his club would be shut down when he has no members.
That is a facade.
Rather, Ito is soon revealed to be a lot smarter and more cunning than he seems. Still a pervert, he muses in front of the school council about the shutdown, and pops a boner, which seems to help him think more clearly (a first in human history). He wagers his club’s future against his ability to recruit idols and produce a full-blown idol performance at the school festival. I think the council was humoring him because they didn’t want to see him stand there with his erection. But it helps that Onodera Yuzu, a ranking member of the council and one of Ito’s childhood friends, volunteers to become his first idol. Ito though? Ito saw an opportunity to make his dream a reality.
Sexually Available Idol Harem
So, how does an infamous pervert, who everyone thinks is disgusting, produce idol classmates? Sheer. Fucking. Rizz.
Ito is shameless, and in the world of Idol Club! (KARI), that translates to confidence. Admittedly, his dick also has its own rizz aura both by bulge and by being bare. Ito’s ability to get women to do what he wants is well demonstrated by how he progresses from measuring Onodera’s body over her clothes, to filming her using toys orally and having sex with her off camera simultaneously, in slightly over 40 pages. Rizz carries Ito way further than that, though.
Fetish Collector
Idol Club! (KARI) displays several fetishes. Some fetishes are idol costumes and performance-based. Others are due to the idols themselves, as Ito recruits most of the other club heads and captains to be his idols.
Collected fetishes include:
- Transparent swimsuit
- Older woman, complete with a nursing hand job
- Praise kink
- Romantic confessions
- Girl-on-girl
- …And lots more
Beyond Appearances
Despite the list above being only a drop in the bucket, the vast quantity of fetishes is an aesthetic, not the point of Idol Club! (KARI). Like the previously reviewed Greatjug Academy, Idol Club! (KARI) has an overarching plot. Unlike Greatjug Academy, however, this story has a potent rising action and huge, messy climax involving all the idols at once. Ito’s not greedy, though. I won’t spoil his motives, but this devious pervert sets up a situation where the recruited idols join their personal fans for sexy time, and bold boys enjoy the newly confident idol girls.
Meanwhile, the middle of the collection relies a lot on montages. There are lots of women, and they’re woven well into the plot, but Onodera is the main girl. Most of the idols, like the music teacher, get specific types of scenes. A recruiting scene, where Ito shows his ability to seduce them. A presence in idol training and the school festival performance, sometimes without any sex. A starring moment in the climax, where the idol “services” the men who admire them. And then a final time getting with Ito. Quantity is emphasized over quality for the heroines besides Onodera, however.
Idol Art
Speaking of messes and plentiful sex, the artwork in Idol Club! (KARI) is messy in a good way. Bodily fluids and detail work where it counts, don’t push this doujin to the highest heights I’ve seen. But it focuses on what counts for an idol hentai: outfits, bodies, and the outcome of gooning. It’s a little strange how Ito’s junk takes center stage early on before there’s even a sex scene. But it’s part of the surreal way he seduces people, so at least it’s relevant to characterization.
For anyone interested in seeing idols doing idol things, instead of being seduced into working and then barely performing, there is a bonus chapter focused on idol events. It’s only vaguely related to the main story. But a guy gets with the hardworking idol he admires, and in doing so, helps her relax. It’s cute, focused, and romantic, so no complaints.
Viewing the Idol Club
Idol Club! (KARI), created by Shiwasu No Okina, has been made available in English thanks to J18 Publishing, with an extensive library available from J-List. At over 260 pages, and dripping with confidence, fluids, and cute idols, it’s hard to find more idol doujin content.
To really understand Ito’s scheme, you’ll need to read Idol Club! (KARI). To have his rizz… you’ll need to dream. Yet despite the surreal story, I heartily recommend Idol Club! (KARI). Available now from J-List.
