Taiyo has finally cemented himself as a true member of his future bride’s family. He fought shoulder-to-shoulder with his in-laws against one of their most hated enemies. Taiyo has come a long way from being a loner to a budding assassin. He found a new home, a new family, and a new girlfriend in rapid succession, just in time to join a battle to save his childhood friend-turned-girlfriend. We’ll see how his new family life goes when Mission: Yozakura Family (Yozakura-san Chi no Daisakusen) Season 2 premieres on April 12th, 2026.

Hitsuji Gondaira released the original Mission: Yozakura Family manga series between August 26th, 2019, and January 20th, 2025. Shueisha has since published all 29 volumes in Weekly Shonen Jump. Studio Silver Link’s anime adaptation premiered on April 7th, 2024.
Mission: Yozakura Family Cast
The newlywed couple and one of her sisters are as follows:
- Taiyo Asano — Reiji Kawashima (Patrick / Ricky from Shadows House). Taiyo is an orphan who abruptly joined a family of spies.
- Mutsumi Yozakura — Kaede Hondo (Shigeru Kamado from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba). Taiyo’s childhood friend and the future head of a family of spies.
- Futaba Yozakura — Akari Kito (Nezuko Kamado from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba). Futaba is the Yozakura’s eldest daughter and a martial arts master.

Mission: Yozakura Family Continues the Operation
Taiyo Asano lost his family in a tragic car accident. His trauma led him to sever all remaining personal relationships to avoid feeling the pain of loss ever again. His childhood friend, Mutsumi Yozakura, goes out of her way to prevent this self-isolation. Taiyo discovers what her family is actually like, forcing him to propose to Mutsumi to prevent her overprotective brother from killing him. This quick engagement leads him to training to become an assassin to protect Mutsumi.
The new trailer provides a mix of slice-of-life with actual lethal slices. Mutsumi’s family members are as wacky as ever, despite their otherwise deadly abilities. Shion Yozakura is just lazing about and gaming, which makes her a Best Girl candidate. Taiyo is seen engaging in a heated sparring session against Shinzo Yozakura. He’ll need to be strong enough to take Shion if he’s to clear the spy exams to meet Makoto Kawashita and find Tsubomi Yozakura.
