Rejoice, cultured otaku, for a new snake waifu is coming! The Misogiya family has kept its ancient traditions alive into the modern era. The first rule is that no one should trespass deep into the mountain and encroach upon the shrine there. Well, the two young Misogiya siblings do just that to find their grandfather during a storm. They meet the ancient mountain god, a terrifying snake woman whom they treat as a friend. We’ll see how the bewildered snake woman responds when Dara-san of Reiwa (Reiwa no Dara-san) premieres sometime in July 2026.

Dara-san of Reiwa Cast
The snake god and her two new friends are as follows:

- Yamatagi Madara “Dara” — Mutsumi Tamura (Renly from Sword Art Online: Alicization — War of Underworld). Dara is the ancient snake god that the older families fear.
- Hinata Misogiya — Minami Tsuda (Iris’s Axew from Pocket Monsters: Best Wishes!). Hinata is a fearless girl with great spiritual potential.
- Kaoru Misogiya — Momoka Terasawa (Yuzu Hanaoka from Blue Archive: Beautiful Day Dreamer). Kaoru is a brave and slightly lewd boy with artistic talent.
Asahi Production maintains a home page and a Twitter (X) page to promote Dara-san of Reiwa. You can find more information about the series and the key visuals at those sites.

Dara-san of Reiwa Enjoys a Peaceful Future
Long ago, twin priestesses slew an ancient snake god who called the mountain its home. The snake’s rage persisted even after death, taking on the form of a lamia to exact revenge. This legend continues into the modern era, where only the Misogiya family maintains the shrine that seals away the fearsome Yamatagi Madara. The two young heirs of the Misogiya family break this rule during a storm. Their concern for their grandfather leads them deep into the mountain to find him.

The storm tore down both the fence that blocked the area off and the sacred shrine itself. Hinata, the tomboy, and Kaoru, the feminine boy, have a fateful encounter with the terrifying snake god. Yamatagi Madara’s tale is far different and more tragic than what the ancient scrolls contained. Her rage diminished with passing time, leaving her (more or less) a kind person who questions why these siblings aren’t afraid of her. She still has magic, she can still curse her, but that won’t stop Kaoru and Hinata from wanting to see her in lewd clothing.
