Have you ever looked forward to an anime because a character in it looks like a hentai character? I have. I squealed when I saw the first visual for A Misanthrope Teaches a Class for Demi-Humans because I remembered Elliot from Enjo Kouhai. After all, when an anime features a mermaid with blue hair, a teacher, and demi-humans, the similarities write themselves. Unfortunately, there’s no horniness in Jingai Kyoshitsu, but we do have its main trailer! And judging by it, we’ll have a comfy demi-human anime to look forward to next month!
The anime’s trailer also revealed the show’s opening song, “Ningen” by Masayoshi Oishi. Here’s some Kashou lore for you. Every time I listen to Masayoshi Oishi, I think of the scene in Cop Craft where the dude tells Tilarna to keep her thigh-highs on during sex. Anime has yet to produce a more cultured man.

Synopsis
How people deal with trauma is one of life’s infinite complexities. Some people internalize it while others end up with Vietnam-style PTSD flashbacks. For others, trauma changes their behavior. Rei Hitoma falls into the latter, as past trauma transformed him into a dyed-in-the-wool misanthrope. And that misanthropy is key to Jingai Kyoshitsu, as it sets the whole series in motion.
Tired of the chaos that comes with living in the city, Rei-san takes a teaching job in the mountains. After all, nothing calms a forlorn soul like mountain views. However, his idyllic slow life turns into a fantasy when he realizes he’ll be teaching demi-humans! But hey, misanthropy is only an issue if it targets humans. Or is it? Check out Jingai Kyoshitsu on January 10 to find out.
