In case you’ve been living in a galaxy far, far away, reports have announced The Super Mario Galaxy Movie and its premiere date of April 2026. Princess Rosalina (voiced by Brie Larson) is the damsel in distress this time around, which has us wondering: Which Mario princess has the best cosplay? And how many princesses can one kingdom even have?!
Join us on a decidedly non-Nintendo-approved adventure as we answer these questions and find the best Mario princess cosplay!
Great news! J-List is having a $40-off-$200-or-more holiday coupon you can use for all in-stock items shipping from Japan! (Except calendars and Lucky Boxes.) Princess Peach Cosplay
Starting us off today is the classic, most recognizable of Super Mario’s heroines (or, more often, captives): Princess Peach. Introduced in 1985 with the less glamorous name “Princess Toadstool,” she reigns over the Mushroom Kingdom, where most mainline Super Mario Bros. games typically take place. When Bowser isn’t kidnapping her, Peach hits the courts or lays down the rubber in the various Mario spin-off games!
Does the OG have what it takes to keep her younger rivals at bay? Let’s check out Mario’s Princess Peach cosplay!

Princess Daisy Cosplay
Mario has Luigi, and Peach has Daisy: different characters introduced primarily as a “Player 2” mechanic, but eventually spinning off into their own distinct personality. Daisy is sporty, energetic, and the ruler of Sarasaland, which, aside from Mario Kart entries, primarily appears in Super Mario Land (1989) and its sequel. Peach’s younger rival throws down the gauntlet in this set of Mario princess cosplay!

Princess Rosalina
The Super Mario franchise didn’t get a new girl for nearly 30 years, until Super Mario Galaxy in 2007. Rosalina (Rosetta, in Japanese) is the adoptive mother of the adorable star-shaped Lumas, and “watcher of the cosmos.” Since her debut, she’s quickly joined the roster of Mario spin-off titles, becoming a beloved character in the franchise.

Boosette and Bowsette
Bowsette and Boosette (or Booette), while not official characters in the Mario franchise, have become staples in the fandom. Bowsette is a sexy gender-bent Bowser (originating from a 2018 comic strip by artist Ayyk92). And following that logic, it wasn’t long before King Boo received his own transformation into Boosette. While they’re not official, we think these cosplays hold their own against the other Mario princess cosplays!
