An extroverted girl and an introverted boy share a mutual attraction. Despite this, the gulf between them continues to widen. Societal expectations hold the girl back, and the boy’s introversion keeps him from making much of a move on his own. Against all odds, the two drift together and even hold hands once. We’ll see if they manage to close the gap when You and I Are Polar Opposites (Seihantai na Kimi to Boku) premieres on January 11th, 2026.
Kocha Agasawa released the original You and I Are Polar Opposites manga series between May 2nd, 2022, and November 25th, 2024. Shueisha published all eight volumes in Shonen Jump+.

Let’s Try Dating Even if You and I Are Polar Opposites
Miyu Suzuki harbors a secret crush on her seatmate, Yusuke Tani. These two couldn’t be more different. Miyu is an outgoing girl with plenty of friends, and Yusuke is a quiet and blunt guy with far fewer comrades. However, it’s this difference that draws Miyu to Yusuke. She likes him for his blunt honesty. This trait contrasts with her need to answer her friends’ expectations rather than speak her true feelings.
Things come to a head when Miyu runs into Yusuke on their way out of the school. Miyu works up the courage to ask him if he would like to walk with her for a while. Yusuke agrees, much to her surprise. She even works up the courage to reach out for his hand. After an obligatory misunderstanding at school the following day, these two opposites finally attract and confess their mutual feelings.
