It’s fun to be an anime fan and watch romantic comedy shows, following our favorite characters as they fall in love then experience great emotional highs when their love comes to fruition…and sometimes the sadness of having things not go as expected. I thought it’d be fun to ask J-List’s Twitter followers to show us what useful advice on romance they’d gotten from anime, and here are some of the answers I got!
Some wisdom from Misato. The reason we feel attracted to others is that we’re born incomplete, and it’s best if we can find someone who can complete us. That’s the idea, anyway.
More reasons why you shouldn’t be too afraid of trying at relationships.
Some more tough love from the Wise Wolf Holo. “Remember the lesson, not the disappointment.” I see a lot of people in the anime world who focus on how bad they felt when something didn’t work out in love. If that happens, get drunk with your friends and get back on the wolf horse.
Remember, girls, it’s okay to measure your boyfriend’s size, but make sure he measures your ring size too.
A political party we can get behind.
If you’re lucky enough to get a girl who’s okay with this, have fun!
Joking aside, I’m obviously a big fan of memes, and can share 2D “anime waifus” with the best of them. Just remember that statements like this are for comedy purposes, and should be embraced as your personal philosophy. It’s just not healthy.
Remember, there’s nothing stronger than love. Except an M32 rotary grenade launcher.
