Type-Moon continues the 15th anniversary of Fate/Stay Night with the announcement of the release date for the final Heaven’s Feel film, as well as kicking off a 3.5 months-long art exhibit in Tokyo that will last until the beginning of April, 2020. While Type-Moon has been doing much to celebrate the Fate franchise as a whole during the 15th-anniversary celebrations, this art exhibit will primarily focus on the original Stay Night visual novel.
With the exhibit period being so long, Type-Moon will be dedicating a month each to focus on the three routes of the original game, with the final route, Heaven’s Feel, getting extended focus. No doubt this is to promote the new film that will be appearing in theaters all over Japan at the same time.
- The Fate route will be featured from December 20th until January 20th.
- Unlimited Blade Works will be from January 23rd to February 24th.
- Finally, Heaven’s Feel will last from February 27th until April 5th.
Entry tickets will cost 2,500 yen at the door, and 2,300 if purchased in advance. Each entry will gain a special commemorative item while supplies last.
The exhibit is described as “a celebration of Type-Moon’s franchise that has continued to enthuse fans across generations regardless of gender. Now, a special exhibit is being held where fans can experience the world and history of Fate. Old history will be found, and a new history will be made here.”
Beyond the story routes, permanent installments for the exhibit include several rarities and displays that show Type-Moon’s love and passion.
- Kinoko Nasu’s office and workplace will be replicated, as will the desks of all artists and Type-Moon supporting staff.
- The History of Type-Moon will be presented with visuals from all Fate media, from artwork to vintage merchandise. Also, event-exclusive goods will be available for purchase.
- The Making of Fate/Stay Night will present numerous characters, illustrations, music, and other production matters that went into the creation of the original visual novel.
- A Type-Moon Gallery will continue where the Making Of gallery leaves off, showcasing numerous illustrations from the whole franchise. Included will be never before seen and newly made illustrations to be featured in the limited edition Return to AVALON artbook. Said illustrations will be special pieces depicting Saber during her travels in contemporary Great Britain.
- Type-Moon Today will be a display showcasing more recent and future projects that the game company is working on.
- Fuyuki City: Day and Night will be another special addition. Guests will be able to see a 13-meter long diorama of the entire Fuyuki City in which Fate/Stay Night takes place.
- Last, but not least is Carnival Illusion. This will be a massive collection of various magazine covers that have featured Type-Moon characters for the past 15 years. Also, there will be a message wall displaying countless letters from fans, and a special message to commemorate the event.
If the art exhibit wasn’t enough, the venue also houses a special cafe with a menu of various dishes themed around select characters. Finally, Fate fans can try Shirou’s cooking with his Japanese-style lunch special. Or would you rather learn why Kirei Kotomine loves mapo tofu so much? Illya Einzbern will represent desserts with specially mixed berries and cream cheesecake. Rin Tohsaka and Sakura Matou share a dish as a double stack of mini pancakes with cherry and strawberry jam. Saber will have a special Excaliburger.
Archer, Lancer, and Gilgamesh will all be represented as drinks, namely as a chocolate marble shake, blue yogurt, and lemonade, respectively.
Just like how all entries get special commemorative goods, each food purchase will also come with a small collector’s item from the cafe.
