I wondered if there was going to be a seasonal story arc for Tejina-Senpai with so many little vignettes inside a short anime, and that shot of the make-shift sign for the Magic Club was all the hint we needed. Senpai needs to get the band together. The shocking truth of the Magic Club was that there was no Magic Club!
I really liked Senpai’s answer about this revelation to Assistant-kun, that he had been fooled into doing a lot more work for this unofficial club, “It’s not fraud. It’s magic!” Exactly right. Assistant-kun just wanted to join a club to fulfill the school’s mandatory club requirement and coast through. That’s not happening any more. Now if Senpai could only do magic tricks as well as she ran a long con on a first-year high school student, she’d probably have an easier time in getting more club members.
Speaking of Assistant-kun, he actually nodded to the audience that Senpai gives him a lot of eye candy and that he wouldn’t say no if she pushed him down. However, Assistant-kun is also an observant and pragmatic dude. From what he’s seen so far, Senpai only has magic on her brain and some unjustified stubborn pride about appearing competent at it. With that possibility of romance dashed, the audience can get on with the comedy in Tejina-Senpai and just enjoy the anticipation of how the clumsy Senpai will accidentally show her sexy body.

1st Chapter – “Senpai Bends.”
