Many artists in hentai find themselves doing colored work of some variety. For some, they’ll illustrate colored pages or full-color chapters of stories. For almost every artist, they’ll draw a colored cover for their manga, at the very least. When it comes to color artwork, though, there are few who stand alongside the legendary work of hentai artist ISHiKEi. Now, in a full-length hentai anthology titled TiTiKEi, fans and newcomers alike can appreciate his gorgeous artwork over the course of 215 jaw-dropping pages.
The interesting thing about this book is that so much of it is in full-color. There are 24 chapters, most of which only being around four to six pages long, but a majority of the chapters end up being printed in color. Meanwhile, a handful of longer, full-length chapters are run in black&white. The amount of color in this volume is a blessing because it’s in full rendering glory that the artwork of ISHiKEi truly shines. There’s a gorgeous, almost mesmerizing level of soft yet complex detail put into the eyes of his characters that makes the art really stand out, but that same level of detail is applied to every inch of the busty bodies of his characters. Various spots of light-shine and shadow bouncing off of the girl’s arms, breasts, and faces. Meanwhile, their lips and nipples are rendered with a level of realistic quality that I’ve never seen in other artists work. ISHiKEi is at his best when drawing rich and detailed standalone illustrations, but the variety of short stories in this book allows him to maintain that level of detail while also exploring the stories of his gorgeous girls.
Not every story in TiTiKEi is a 4-page, full-color adventure though. The first chapter, Various Lewd Things, is a 16-page black&white story with the kind of slow buildup and variety of scenes you’d expect out of a full-length hentai chapter. The premise is pretty simple. A high-school boy goes to wake up his incredibly tall and busty younger sister and catches her sound asleep with her breasts practically spilling out of her top. He decides to take advantage of the moment and rub his dick against her sleeping mouth for some quick morning exercise until she wakes up in the middle of the action. Expecting his sister Chie to get angry, he’s surprised when she ends up being into it and asking for more. Thus begins the story of some wholesome family bonding.
There’s not a lot to the story, really, which was kind of a disappointment. Despite 16 pages to work with, it didn’t feel like anything actually happened besides a couple simple sex scenes. Thankfully, this story acts as a setup for the next nine chapters in TiTiKEi, giving us plenty of improvement in the story as the characters develop and new struggles arise between the brother and sister. Something that also develops incredibly well over the course of these nine chapters is the art. The first few chapters of Various Things definitely aren’t the finest work of TiTiKEi. The character’s eyes are awkwardly sized and misaligned, and while Chie is certainly tall and busty, there’s an artificial quality to her cleavage and anatomy that feels entirely like a downgrade compared to the soft and rich art ISHiKEi puts out in the rest of the book.
Another full-length chapter in TiTiKEi, titled Afterwork Pleasure, starts in color before switching to black&white for the remainder of the story. A new teacher at a Japanese high school is doing her best to deal with the stress, and she does so by masturbating in her classroom at the end of the day. When one of her students walks in on her, though, she offers to make him feel good in order to keep quiet about what’s been happening here, despite it actually being her first time having sex. It’s here that we get another sample of ISHiKEis earliest art, as well as his earliest colorwork. Anatomy issues from the first chapter persist here, but even the coloring in this chapter looks flat and simple compared to the jaw-dropping quality in other chapters. It’s a fun time-capsule for fans of his work, but definitely isn’t a highlight of the book.
No, the highlight of TiTiKEi is, without a doubt, the various colored mini-chapters that make up a large chunk of the anthology. The chapter “It’s the Sins of the Flesh”, for example, sees a promiscuous student council at an all-girls private school kidnap the supposed boyfriend of one of their members to make him their sexual man-servant. When the girl in question admits that he’s just a childhood friend, though, they decide to help her change that by making the two consummate their relationship in front of the entire student council. What’s great about this chapter and it’s follow-up is the sheer variety of girls in action here. ISHiKEi normally draws tall girls with enormous breasts, but every member of the student council has a different body-type and hairstyle, including the flat-chested council president with twintails who gets in on things quite a lot during the story. It’s a lot of fun to see ISHiKEi branch out and draw other types of characters, and the experimentation leads to one of the best chapters in the entire anthology.
Another fun and pretty hilarious chapter in TiTiKEi is “Glutton! Crime”, a short story with gorgeous artwork. In this, a male and female reporter comes to a local town to cover the reports of some “phantom daikon radishes.” When the male reporter Maraoka whispers to his gorgeous partner Kurito to do what he says, she walks up and immediately begins caressing and tasting the mysterious daikons.
The radishes are, naturally, penises.
She sees the men lining up around her as nothing but mysterious radishes, and ends up taking her clothes off and tasting every single phantom daikon with each and every one of her holes. It’s a cute and simple story and leans into the absurdity in a way that makes the whole thing appreciatively light-hearted. Seeing the reaction from Kurito turn from confusion to curiosity, and then downright pleasure made this short chapter feel like it had more development than the full-length stories contained within TiTiKEi.
Overall, TiTiKEi is an incredible hentai anthology book. For fans of the artist, getting a collection of stories like these from him is a great way to appreciate the gorgeous art of ISHiKEi in a new light. The quality disparity between chapters is a little distracting at times, but even the lowest quality visuals in the book are juicy, sexy and downright addicting to look at.
