Tower of God was originally a Korean webcomic created by author S.I.U. and launched in June 2010. As of February 2020, Tower of God has been viewed over four billion times. The anime series premiered in April 2020 and features animation from TMS Entertainment. It is directed by Takashi Sano, who is working off the series composition created by Erika Yoshida. Crunchyroll describes the story as:
Reach the top, and everything will be yours. At the top of the tower exists everything in this world, and all of it can be yours. You can become a god. This is the story of the beginning and the end of Rachel, the girl who climbed the tower so she could see the stars, and Bam, the boy who needed nothing but her.
