The much-hyped and long-awaited Tokyo NECRO was released recently onto the JAST USA shop! For those on the fence, JAST is currently offering a launch discount, giving 10% off the game. If you need any further incentive, the Director’s Cut DLC, which is the 18+ content, is completely free.
If this is your first time seeing Tokyo NECRO, just one of the many fantastic games developed by Nitro Origin, this trailer’s a good place to start. It highlights the epic fight scenes that take place over a mostly frozen Earth.
Necromancers Bring Death to a New Ice Age
We’ll have a review available soon, but let’s take a look and get excited.
Tokyo NECRO is most certainly an eroge. There’s even an 18+ DLC that unlocks all the steamy lewd goodness, and it’s free. However, it’s far from the typical kind eroge, whereby the setting itself lends to romantic situations. A school life setting, or something similar, where the protagonist is in a safe environment and can focus on pursuing romance. That is not the case in this game. Very few places are “safe,” and romance is hardly the first thing one sees when looking at the cover. However, that’s not a bad thing. For those bored of normal romance tales, this is a nice change of pace.
Tokyo NECRO is set in the far future, in the year 2199. Earth has been plunged into a new ice age, reducing our prolific race to scattered cities that can tap into geothermal heat pipes, as Tokyo has done to keep the city alive. In this already bleak world, the threat of necromancers, those who can revive the dead in their thrall, is ever-present. Hunting them down has even become an industry. Our main protagonist Nagaoka So’un works for the Karasuzumi Living Dead Stalker Office, a place that employs skilled fighters to make sure that the dead stay down.
We’ll have a more detailed plot breakdown in the forthcoming review, but suffice it to say, there are plenty of girls around So’un, one of whom prefers girls herself. Romance is in the air, even with necromancers trying to ruin the mood.
Nitro Origin has also worked on a cute, ecchi Super Sonico visual novel titled Sonicomi: Communication with Sonico. It just so happens that the J-List Shop has its own Super Sonico section, complete with a very alluring figure, the Super Sonico 1/6 Figure Paisura Bikini ver., for those who want to play a Sonico game with Sonico herself hanging out nearby.
