‘Tis the season for the mighty to collaborate with various candy treats!
On September 30th, Snickers Japan released a brand new 32-second commercial featuring a collaboration between the candy bar and Attack on Titan. In the commercial, Eren and his friends are attacked by a titan Dewi Sukarno who is a monstrously public figure in Japan. If you’ve never heard of her, do yourself a favor and look her up as she has quite the interesting history to read about if you’re into celebrity scandal type things.

The collaboration between Snickers and Attack on Titan is part of a special promotional campaign that is running in Japan from October 1st to November 30th. The basic idea behind the campaign is that titans are starting to look like celebrities due to their hunger. That’s when the Attack on Titan crew jumps in with Snickers bars to satisfy their hunger.
The first part of the campaign is the commercial you see above. The next part of the campaign involves people tweeting at the official Snickers Japan social media accounts with their guesses on who will be the next titan to be. The last part of the campaign involves residents of Japan to purchase select varieties of the candy bar and tweet a picture of their purchase to the social media channels. Once a certain number of bars have been sold, the titan celebrity will have their hunger satisfied and 100 people will be sent a special Attack on Titan t-shirt.
For those who haven’t been keeping up, Attack on Titan just finished airing its third television season earlier this year. It has already announced that a fourth and final season will air in the fourth quarter of 2020. The original manga that the anime is adapting is up to its 29th volume in Japan as of this past summer.
So, which Japanese celebrity would you like to see get titanfied?
