It has been revealed that Madoka Kaname will be returning in an upcoming anime adaptation of the smartphone game Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica which is slated for a 2019 release. This big announcement was unveiled during the Magia Day 2018, a celebration of the game’s first year anniversary.
The event presented a teaser promotional video which can be viewed below:
The visual’s tagline is the same as the game: “A meeting between the girls weaves a new story.” The game was released in Japan in August 2017 for Android and iOS devices.
A spinoff game to the popular Puella Magic Madoka Magica anime, the story follows Iroha Tamaki who hopes to find her younger sister Ui in the town of Kamihama where magical girls gather and battle with a new power from witches. She becomes a magical girl wish that her sister will be saved from illness. Also in the game, Madoka also arrives in town hoping to find Homura.
Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica also a stage play adaptation which is running from August to September this year as well as a manga adaptation.
