With every spring in Japan the cherry blossom trees bloom, but this year McDonald’s is bring a new dessert called the “McFlurry Crunchy Sakura” (McFlurry Sakusaku Sakura)!
This special McFlurry is said to be a yummy mix of soft serve ice cream with a special sauce flavor inspired by sakura mochi (a Japanese sweet consisting of sweet pink-colored rice cake with a red bean paste center, and wrapped in a pickled cherry blossom leaf) with real salt-pickled cherry leaves, and crushed pink waffle cone pieces added to give a more authentic taste and smell!
Japan seems to be loving it all across the McDonald’s chains and at 290 yen (roughly $2.60 USD) a cup with a cute appearance and scent, can you truly ask why?
McDonald’s will be serving this treat from now until early April so if you happen to be around during that time, give it a try!
