Go, go, Godzilla guitar!
I hope you all have your spare pocket change all gathered in one place because if you want to rock out with this special 65th anniversary Godzilla guitar, you’re going to need every spare coin you can get your hands on!
Last week it was revealed that a very special Godzilla themed electric guitar will be released to the general public. Before you get too excited, however, you should know that only FIVE of these guitars will be produced and each one costs 5,550,000 yen each (approximately $52,000 USD).
To be fair though, you’re getting a pretty awesome guitar for that price! The main body of the guitar is modeled after the iconic monster with the neck mimicking its tail. It even lights up purple when played.
Designed by Japanese rock star and leader of the band THE ALFEE (who happens to be a huge Godzilla fan and honorary store manager of the official Godzilla online shop) Toshihiko Takamizawa, the guitar features plenty of features which will keep musicians rocking out long into the night.
Orders for the guitar opened on the official website on August 7 and will be open until September 30 with orders being fulfilled on a first-come, first-served basis. You can only order one guitar per person (so no ordering all of them yourself and hoarding them in your secret lair). Deliveries are currently scheduled for December 2021 and once you hit the purchase button, you’re committing yourself because they will not refund orders even if you’re not able to receive the guitar when it’s ready, so make sure that you’re 100% certain that you’re ready to part ways with millions of yen before you click the button.
In addition, the guitar does come with a one year warranty but it’s only good in Japan and only covers manufacturer defects.
