Arc System Works specializes in high-budget, ultra-stylish fighting games, and their latest title is no exception. Granblue Fantasy: Versus takes the iconic world and characters of the long-running mobile game and applies them to a fresh and fun fighting game experience. There’s plenty of content in the fighter, from unlockable weapon skins to a full side-scrolling action-RPG story mode. Still, the character roster is a little thin. Thankfully, Arc System Works is hard at work rectifying that. They’ve already confirmed two character passes for the game, with almost every character for the first pass already revealed. Now we know the identity of the final character for the first character pass set, and it’s none other than iconic Granblue hero Zooey.
A new trailer for Granblue Fantasy: Versus dropped that gave us a brief look at every character from the first character pass set in action, including our first footage of Soriz and Djeeta in battle. The trailer caps off with the reveal of Zooey in-game, though we don’t know too much about her skill set and abilities just yet. The trailer also reveals that we can expect the next trailer for the game on March 24th.
The other characters in character pass one are Beelzebub, Narmaya, Soriz, and Djeeta. Beelzebub and Narmaya are already available to play right now in Granblue Fantasy: Versus, while Soriz and Djeeta will be added in early April. Zoeey, meanwhile, will come to the game in late April. As for character pass two, we already know that Belial will be included in the lineup, although details on his release date and which other characters will be joining him remains to be seen.
Granblue Fantasy: Versus launched in Japan on February 6th, before arriving in North America on March 3rd. The game will be released in Europe and Australia by Marvelous Europe on March 27th, and a PC version of the game is also set to arrive on March 13th. The playable characters in the base roster include Gran, Katalina, Charlotta, Lancelot, Ferry, Lowain, Ladiva, Percival, Metera, Zeta, and Vaserage.
