The former NGT48 idol member Rena Hasegawa recently signed with Crocodile, a talent agency based in Shibuya. According to the announcement released by the mentioned agency, Hasegawa is now part of the company, effective June 10.
Hasegawa graduated from the popular idol group NGT48’s Team G. This was following the alleged assault of her fellow team member Maho Yamaguchi. Yamaguchi was assaulted last year by two male “idol fans” when she arrived at her home. She did not speak out about the assault until early in January this year. Yamaguchi publicly apologized later for speaking out about the incident.
Yamaguchi accused her fellow NGT48 members of leaking her personal information to fans. AKS, the management of NGT48, AKB48, and related idol franchises, have already addressed this incident to the public.
Hasegawa’s first job as a voice actress will be as an “official reporter” for the Dropkick on My Devil! Season 2 anime series. She is also confirmed to be the MC for the CIRCLE FIRE 4@Kawasaki Club Citta event which will happen on June 29. The star is set to perform in a mini anime song concert along with idol group Fallen POP (composed of Rico Sasaki, Yurei Kozakai, and Marina Yamada), DJ zu of i☆Ris, Uki Satake, LiveRevolt, and Miyu Takagi.
In an interview with Sankei Sports, Hasegawa stated that she wanted to grow her voice acting career and already had role ideas in mind.
“I want to try playing a boy because my voice is husky, but I am also interested in a girlish role. I want to make voice acting my lifetime career.”
Amidst the former controversies and issues, Hasegawa is wishing to reunite with Riko Sugahara and Maho Yamaguchi. She also wished for their happiness and wanted to co-star as a trio with them someday.
