It was reported on Monday on the entertainment news website Variety that Hajime Isayama’s popular manga series Attack on Titan is getting a Hollywood Film adaptation. Warner Bros. has already finalized a deal with Kodansha who will be producing the film.
In addition, it has been confirmed that the director of It, Andy Muschietti will be the film’s director. His sister Barbara Muschietti (It), Masi Oka (Mega Man), and David Heyman (Harry Potter) are confirmed as producers.
A previous report released in January last year by Deadline Hollywood, Warner Bros. was in negotiations to the film rights to Attack on Titan with Heyman as head producer. However, Kondasha claimed that the report was inaccurate.
Attack on Titan was released in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine in 2009. Its popularity has expanded into three-season anime adaptation and two Japanese live-action films. The second half of the Attack on Titan season three anime is slated to air on April 2019.
