Another isekai series is set to premiere in July 2023. Am I Actually the Strongest? (Jitsu wa Ore, Saikyo deshita?) tells the story of what happens when a goddess is too generous with granting “cheat” abilities. Studio Staple Entertainment made a trailer to entice potential viewers and those who love “generous” goddesses.
Staple Entertainment has also set up a promotional homepage and a Twitter page. These sites will also provide additional background information for Am I Actually the Strongest? and the key visual to promote the anime series.
Power Beyond Measure
Am I Actually the Strongest? follows Haruto, who was previously bullied in his third year of middle school. Consequently, he became a shut-in for the next five years. He did nothing but watch anime, read manga, and play video games. Regardless, his end comes peacefully at a point that not even he is aware of. A beautiful goddess announces he shall receive another chance at life in a new world with a “cheat” power to ensure his happiness.
Haruto (voiced by Ayumu Murase) was finally reborn as a king and queen in a world of magic. However, the goddess did not scale the power she gave him with the rest of the world. Levels can be quantified with simple numbers, evidently, and a power level of 40 is considered legendary. Haruto’s power level is 1,002, and he lacks an attribute, an oversight by the goddess. However, the court sage could only see “02,” as power levels only ever appeared in two digits, Haruto’s barrier ability, and no attribute.
The king and queen were openly disgusted by Haruto’s supposedly weak power. So they explicitly ordered guards to carry the infant into the woods to die. Within minutes, a massive wolf came to feast upon Haruto. However, he recalled his “barrier” ability and fought back. Haruto flew in the air, then threw trees and small barrier cubes as projectiles. Despite being an infant, his victory is swift. The towering wolf Freyma, from the Fenrir clan, then comments on his inhuman powers.
Freyma (voiced by Ayaka Shimizu), nicknamed Frey by Haruto, pledges her loyalty to him after he lies and insists that he is the Demon Lord reborn. He is then adopted by a relative of one of his parents, allowing him to live and grow in the peaceful life he dreamed of.
