Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! S2, Ep 2: Wanna Make Udon!

Episode 2 – “I Want to Make Udon After We Hang Out!”

Hmm.

Okay, I admit it. I had to look up what “futsal” was after watching Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!. I gathered it was a type of indoor soccer, but when this activity has its own sports anime, Futsal Boys!!!!! (complete with yaoi-adjacent boys’ love references), then I need to know more about it. Like the incredible Keijo!!!!!!!!, with its eight exclamation points, the five exclamation points are necessary. Futsal comes from the Portuguese phrase, futebol de salão – indoor soccer, then later officially registered as “futsal” in its official governing body AMF (Asociación Mundial de Fútsal). FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association), the big brother soccer body, thought using the word “football” in both groups confused people. Football is such a cultural sport that its name changes are expected in different regions and eras. Football was most notably separated into rugby and soccer rules. Carrying the ball with hands came from the Rugby School in Warwickshire, and Association Rules Football became known as “soccer.” I got a kick out of how kicking a ball on a hard court needs a different word from kicking a ball on grass or artificial turf.

I learned from this episode of Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! that the Uzaki family trait is imagining a wrong take. We’re familiar with Hana believing that Sakurai is a lonely loner who needs to stop being alone. And Tsuki believes Sakurai is Hana’s boyfriend who wants to get with her mother! Our quick introduction to Hana’s younger brother, Kiri, shows him wishing her cute girl-senpai would step on him!

Poor Ami. She missed out on the sleepy cuddling from last week’s Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!. No hard feelings if she can see more Uzaki-Sakurai stuff. Boo! When will Uzaki-chan wear the SUGOI DEKAI shirt? Hilarious. This is a double date! Uzaki and Sakurai couple with Ami and Sakaki to go shopping. Uh oh. Uzaki-chan learned that Sakaki was a better student than she was! Nice, nice. Uzaki-chan needs more swimsuits. Wear them all! Aw. Sakurai started swimming laps seriously again. Ami should be here to take in his bare nipples. Right? Watch out, Uzaki-chan. Sakurai feels comfortable around the pool to compliment you. Flashback to the beach episode from the first season. Thank you, Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!! Sakurai remembered to compliment Uzaki-chan on her fashion choices. Ami is in heaven!

From swimsuit shopping to futsal playing? Okay! Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! will show us the college scene. The university has a futsal court. Does it double for handball and field hockey? Well. Uzaki-chan’s chest game for soccer balls is on point. Ami wants to see fireworks! She’s so thirsty for Sakurai’s naked nipples! Ugh. Why are college guys picking on middle schoolers? Harsh! The boys know where to hit those guys in their insecurities! Uh oh. Sakaki was the hunk who stole the girls away from the dudes’ college mixer! Suddenly, futsal wagering. If the dudes win, they want to talk to Ami and Uzaki-chan. Sakaki offers up Ami because the short stack is off-limits! Ah. Sakaki is a ringer. Sakurai? Not so much. That’s more material for Uzaki-chan to tease him. All right! Sakurai put his game face on. Blammo three times! Ami can’t get enough of rippling muscles. Run away! Ami enjoyed herself.

Next up, it’s noodle time on Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!. But before that, Uzaki-chan dreams of being Uzaki-senpai to Sakurai-kouhai. The truth will out: Uzaki-chan would give Sakurai a “little somethin’-somethin’!” Yay! Tsuki is back! Sakurai made a ton of udon noodles. He does have an obsessive-compulsive streak. Uzaki-chan is all about the udon puns. Uh oh. Sakurai didn’t cut the udon evenly! Tsuki still has much to teach Sakurai. Here we go! Tsuki boob brushing! Sakurai is dangerous! Not only does she think Sakurai is Hana’s boyfriend, but she thinks he wants to make oyakodon udon! Uzaki-chan worries her mom will find out about her “sleeping” with Sakurai. Tsuki has such a dirty mind! Oh, boy. Here’s another one getting the wrong idea. Little brother Kiri imagines Uzaki’s senpai as a pretty girl. And Kiri has a foot fetish!
