Country Girl Keiko is the wholesome story of a high school senior well respected by her community who just wants as many people as possible to attend her small country school graduation. The End. Except this is an eroge visual novel localized by Kagura Games, and Keiko has one clear path to getting people to her graduation—her body.
Keiko is a shy girl who hides her body with baggy clothes and loves her thick glasses when we first meet her in Country Girl Keiko. Entering her senior year in a small country school too tiny to have more than one class, she’s resigned to the reality that nobody but her family will care when she graduates. In order to uplift her spirits, Keiko’s mother offers a makeover, giving her daughter contacts and cuter clothing. This is where the game starts to shine because you aren’t forced to accept the makeover. You can take Keiko down a route where she stays the frumpy girl with no self-esteem.
Unfortunately for Keiko, this is only a side route. Keiko’s teacher molests her under the pretense of raising her self-confidence, and things only go downhill from there.
The goal Country Girl Keiko’s main route is to find a large number of students who have failed to attend school this year for some reason. Some haven’t been to school for a year or more, others are basically just delinquents. Keiko is naive, and has no idea what effect her body has on people since she’s hidden it for years. She learns lots of things she can do with her body from the lewd townsfolk. For a game with such a premise, Country Girl Keiko is actually surprisingly wholesome. On the main route people become protective of her, her schoolmates appreciate her personal attention, and none of Keiko’s scenes are abusive. Keiko greets everyone with a smile—and once she’s told that tit jobs are a type of hello—plenty of sexual acts.
There are a lot of different fetishes here. Vanilla sex is plentiful, but so are: oral encounters, paizuri, some non-consent (especially on shy Keiko route), MILF from the scenes with Keiko’s mom, and lots of classmate encounters. One of my favorite inclusions was a sort of mirror-Keiko you can activate once Keiko becomes confident enough, opening up a series of scenes where Keiko is the sexual aggressor, and the men of the village her prey.
The art style is great, and doesn’t hesitate to get sweaty. It is a shame that the scenes are overlaid onto the map though, instead of having the immersion of proper backgrounds. Events are highly repeatable though, and Country Girl Keiko uses repeat artwork for different scenes, which is probably part of that design choice. Despite re-using artwork, there’s a lot in the game. Country Girl Keiko has a ton of scenes, even for a nukige. The music fits the tone of the game, meaning it’s mostly upbeat. There are no voices, but the writing is immersive enough that I wasn’t focused on the lack. The game design is good for an RPGMaker game, not wasting your time with RPG systems that take no skill, and providing a means of quick-travel between screens.
Along with the main game—which has a couple routes, and a handful of endings—Country Girl Keiko has a series of side stories. One is a sub-game starring the local shop owner Kiri, and her rather more mind-controlled descent into lewdness. One involves taking Keiko on a school trip with some of her classmates, where Keiko’s new values meet new people to play with. And one is a hub where you can control either of the heroines to see some extra scenes that didn’t fit into the main plot, not always very sexual.
Country Girl Keiko is available now on Steam.
