The lovable and bashful heroine of SHY has finally returned!
Japan’s representative heroine will have her work cut out for her in the coming season. We’ll see how she and her friends handle the new crisis when the season premieres on July 1st, 2024. Let’s enjoy the new trailer until then. A cute ninja girl makes her appearance.
Bukimi Miki released the original SHY manga on August 1st, 2019. Akita Shoten has since published 24 volumes in Weekly Shonen Champion. Eight Bit’s anime adaptation premiered on October 3rd, 2023.
Three of our lovely heroines are as follows:
- Teru Momijiyama / Shy — Shino Shimoji (Chevreuse from Genshin Impact). Japan’s hero representative. She succeeded her older sister in the role and strives to upload her sister’s legacy.
- Pepesha Andranof / Spirit — Mamiko Noto (Kotoha from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba). Russia’s hero representative. Teru’s friend and mentor, a role she fulfills despite her heavy drinking.
- Piltz Dunant / Lady Black — Sayumi Suzushiro (Nijika Ijichi from Bocchi the Rock!). Switzerland’s hero representative. She possesses the ability to heal others. Her role as a healer belays her incredible physical abilities.
Studio Eight Bit has maintained a home page and a Twitter (X) page to promote SHY. You can find additional series information and the key visuals there.
SHY Brings Hope in the Hearts of Others
Many years ago, as the world teetered on the edge of calamity, the heroes appeared. A potential World War III was halted and order restored. The people’s hearts shone brightly as they cheered on their new heroes. An era of peace began and a new headquarters was founded in orbit around the Earth, led by Unilord. Each country would have a representative to protect the world and serve their country.
In recent times, Japan’s representative Shine was laid to rest, and her sister Teru would take over as Shy. Teru doesn’t quite have her sister’s bravery or confidence, and her first outing as a hero reflected it. She fell into depression and her powers sealed themselves as a result. Her friend Pepesha pulled her out of that state, and her second adventure saving innocent people from a burning building solidified her role as Japan’s heroine. She’ll be needed as the villainous organization Amarariruku begins to move.
