True power can never die. Demon Lord 2099 (Maou 2099) begins the return of a mighty Demon Lord who was slain by a great hero centuries ago. Befitting the series subtitle “The Lord of Immortals Blooming in the Abyss,” the man who will conquer the future has appeared. We’ll see how our new ruler does when his anime series premieres sometime in autumn 2024. Let’s enjoy the new trailer until then.
Daigo Murasaki and Kureta released their Demon Lord 2099 light novel on January 20th, 2021. Fujimi Shobo has since published three volumes in the Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint.
Our new Demon Lord and two of his cute allies are as follows:
- Veltol Velvet Velsvalt — Satoshi Hino (Noritoshi Kamo from Jujutsu Kaisen). The Demon Lord who nearly conquered Alneath centuries ago. The hero Gram slew him in battle, but his immortality allowed him to cling to life.
- Machina Soleige — Miku Ito (Frenika from Sword Art Online: Alicization). One of Veltol’s Six Dark Peers who remained loyal to him. She revived him in the present day.
- Takahashi — Hana Hishikawa (Additional voices from Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie). A skilled hacker who joins Veltol and Machina to help them restore Veltol’s power.

Demon Lord 2099 Will Retake His Throne in the Future
A great battle raged between the forces of light and the forces of darkness 500 years ago. The hero Gram struck down his foe the Demon Lord Veltol. An age of peace did not last long. The magical world of Alneath merged with Earth in the year 2023. Chaos and prejudice followed this event, but things settled down in 2099. Magic and science moved forward hand-in-hand, leading to advancements in both disciplines.
Machina Soleige was one of Veltol’s Six Dark Peers. Her loyalty remained firm in the 500 years since his demise. She used science and magic to revive him in the new world. Veltol will have to rely on her and the hacker Takahashi to regain his power if he’s to conquer the world. His first target is the neon-colored Shinjuku.
