TenPuru, Episode 13 [BD Extras]: Who Put a Cat’s Face There?

The Crescent Moon Temple’s residents switched bodies! And Akemitsu dreams of sexy adventures in the TenPuru Blu-ray extras.

Episode 13 — “No Way, Why Is It So Big… / You Mustn’t Touch That…”

TenPuru: Weekly Ecchi Wisdom

Strangely, the calligraphy on the TenPuru weekly aphorism did not match the official translation or the common Japanese phrase.

The saying that wisdom should only be spoken to ears ready to receive it is universal across cultures. Jesus admonished His disciples to discern whom they should share the Good News, “Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces,” from Matthew 7:6. The King James Version of the Bible is the origin of the phrase “neither cast ye your pearls before swine.” However, in Japanese, the literal translation for its aphorism, 豚に念仏、猫に経 (ぶたにねんぶつ、ねこにきょう, buta ni nenbutsu, neko ni kyou) is “Buddhist prayers to pigs, sutras to cats.” Like Jesus’s words. Right?

But the written calligraphy in TenPuru substitutes dog for pig — 犬に念仏、猫に経 (inu ni nenbutsu, neko ni kyou). That’s not right! But there is a similar phrase in Japanese about dogs: 犬に論語 (いぬにろんご, inu ni rongo). 論語 (rongo) is the Analects of Confucius. Nowadays, this short saying is an idiom for “Don’t waste your breath” because it’s a metaphor for how useless it is to teach anything to those who cannot understand reason. Don’t teach Confucius’s writings to a dog! So, the TenPuru producers combined aphorisms. At least “cat” stayed up there, somewhere, so the reference to Nyagosuke remained.

Tom-blocking the TenPuru Good Bits

However, all the words of weekly ecchi wisdom connected to something sexy in the TenPuru episodes, so what’s the deal with this heavily fanservice-oriented pair of extras on the anime’s Blu-ray collection? Did you notice who blocked a paying audience a peek at heaven from nipples and Barbie doll crotches? Nyagosuke! Why would the producers tease us with Blu-ray bait only to deny us through cat-face censorship? Obviously, our eyes are not ready to appreciate the pearls of wisdom that glimpses of Nirvana would give us from the nubile bodies of the female residents of the Crescent Moon Temple. Bare breasts and nether regions are sutras to our ignorant feline eyes. When will we be ready? We must receive more cat-slaps in our training. Only then will our bodies be ready. Let’s hope we are worthy of uncensored Blu-rays in a possible continuation of TenPuru.

Uh oh! Akemitsu and Yuzuki have switched bodies! Yes. It’s a body-swapping episode! Yuzuki thinks Akemitsu is “big” down there… Does the red-headed monk-in-training usually sport morning wood? Timber! Meanwhile, Akemitsu explores Yuzuki’s pajama-clad figure. No hits to the face to ward off impure thoughts! Of course. Who did Kurage switch with? Ahahaha! Nyagosuke censorship! Well. This scene answered the question about how censored the Blu-rays would be. Funny ecchi instead of freeing the nipple. Neat! Yuzuki figured out it was Kagura’s mind inside Kurage.

Kagura suggests it was the “special” incense she received from the Baldwin family. How would swapping bodies fit onto the sliding scale of aphrodisiac effects? Akemitsu struggles with dressing Yuzuki’s voluptuous body. She doesn’t wear a bra under her sleepwear (most women don’t). TenPuru supplies an educational experience in every episode. Ah. Kurage is inside Mia. The voice actors are having fun doing impressions of the other characters. Kagura wants to save those Mia recordings, but Yuzuki will have a “family meeting” with Kurage later. Akemitsu’s solutions invariably involve a kink fetish. Blindfolding should work… whoops!

Oh ho. Who is inside Kiki? Nyagosuke the cat idly watches the fanservice festivities. TenPuru accounted for everyone now. Nyagosuke switched with Kiki, and Tsukuyo was inside Kagura. Hahaha! The cat speaks! I always wondered why Nyagosuke needed a voice actor credit. Now, we know! Uh oh. Bathroom emergency! Mia made things worse for Tsukuyo’s curvaceousness. Kiki still instructs Akemitsu’s body for “mindfulness.” Cat slap! Akemitsu’s mind slowly loses ground to temptation.

Oh? The Baldwin incense effects wore off. What did Akemitsu do to Yuzuki’s body? How does one bind shibari ropes by oneself?

Feverish Fanservice Dreaming

On to the second extra TenPuru episode! Wedding day for Akemitsu, but who is he marrying? Kiki wears Protestant priest robes, too, so we know this is a dream. Ohoho! That priest Yuzuki is supposed to marry has a nice rack! Now, it’s a pure farce. Let’s roll with it. Kagura is in a catsuit because why not? Clothes-melting beam! Run away to the crescent moon! It was bright daylight mere seconds ago. What happened? It’s a dream!

Tsukuyo’s turn to bother Akemitsu as a mermaid. It’s not a kiss! It’s mouth-to-mouth rescue breathing! TenPuru suddenly reminds me of Grand Blue Dreaming. What? Tsukuyo can take off her mermaid fins! Aw. Her scene is over too soon.

Now what? A love hotel room? With Kurage! Who taught her these cosplay fetishes? Yuzuki needs to start on those “family meetings” sooner rather than later. Whoa! Kurage filled out her adult form. Oh no. Interrupted again! Mia chases Akemitsu in the temple halls as if the love hotel were always there. It’s a dream!

Kiki’s turn. It’s not fanservice unless she undresses, too. I can’t argue with that logic. The heck? What a tease! Akemitsu appears to be in the torture room love hotel he shared with Yuzuki. What will Mia and Kagura do to him? Low-temperature candle wax… Ahahaha! Nurse Yuzuki, now! Akemitsu is a pure horndog.

And TenPuru ends this horny fever dream in a bathhouse. All this sudsy stimulation invites karma. Bring on the tentacle grape! Dear Kagura. That is not a cat slap.

Akemitsu’s fever dream: confirmed. Ah. The source of Akemitsu’s dream: naked wipe down from lovely ladies’ hands. The end.
