Season six of the beloved shonen series My Hero Academia is hurtling towards us at the speed of time. With the October 1st premiere date inching closer and closer, the staff is keenly aware of the mounting anticipation that has been building up inside fans since the previous season ended late last year. Luckily for all of us, the staff over at TOHO animation believes that you’ve all been very good people lately and have blessed us with the third promotional video for the upcoming season that lasts a whopping two minutes!
As you saw in the promotional video, the intrigue in this upcoming season is going to be dialed up a couple of notches, which is a trend that the series has been following for the last couple of seasons. While I won’t recap the major events of the previous season, this new season will cover the Paranormal Liberation War arc, which spanned a couple of volumes in the manga.
Long-time readers know that while I’m not a huge fan of shonen titles (understatement), I have a soft spot for My Hero Academia. I even recently went out of my way to make sure I was caught up on season five before the new season begins and there’s an excellent reason for that.
Once again, you’ll have to forgive me for being vague, because I don’t want to spoil anything for others. Still, thanks to my work I’ve had to look at the future of the My Hero Academia manga (by which I mean, plot points that have yet to be animated) and I’m well aware that within the next couple of seasons the story is going to take some quite unexpected turns that anime-only fans will not see coming and this is exciting to me. Still, though, I refuse to say another word about what’s coming!
