It’s no secret that while I loved the original incarnation of Tiger and Bunny (it was, after all, a part of the glorious year of anime that was 2011), I was unconvinced that the second season that premiered on Netflix earlier this year was nothing more than a nostalgic cash grab. Luckily for me, those fears were put to rest with the second season, which received mostly positive reviews from fans and critics alike. That said, the question left after April’s worldwide premiere was would we get more? Well, I’m here to tell you that the answer is a resounding yes!

Lost in the noise that was this past weekend’s Anime Expo event in Los Angeles is the single tweet embedded above which reveals that the second half of Tiger and Bunny season two will premiere on Netflix worldwide on October 7th, 2022!
While I might have groused a bit regarding the return of Tiger and Bunny in previous articles (in my defense, I’ve been hurt before), I’ve evolved my feelings to be glad that this series got a second chance to shine in the spotlight even if only for a short while. Many series that come and go are forgotten about by the time they turn ten years old, but Tiger and Bunny carved itself a nice little hole in the fandom and made itself comfortable in the hearts of fans around the world.
Tiger and Bunny did the concept of superheroes well at a time when we were getting almost nothing but superheroes. It was fun, engaging, and filled with characters that you couldn’t help but root for as the episodes progressed. While other superhero anime have come and gone, I can’t help but think about how many of them wouldn’t have even been given a second look had it not been for this one, which helped pave the way.
