I listed this series as one of my top reasons to be excited about 2021, so getting to report on this license announcement has me plain giddy. Funimation took to their blog and social media accounts on Thursday, February 18th, to reveal that they will simulcast the series Dragon Goes House-Hunting when it premieres this April. As part of the announcement, the company revealed a promotional video which you can see below.

Originally a manga series that has been running since 2017 in Monthly Comic Garden, the story of this series involves a timid dragon and his elf architect trying to find a place to build a home for the dragon to settle down in. The series has six volumes out in Japan, while Seven Seas is releasing the manga in English with volume six being released earlier this week. Dragon Goes House-Hunting will feature animation from studio Signal.MD (who already have two series announced for this year besides this one; Mars Red and Platinum End). Haruki Kasugamori will direct while Shiori Asuka and Su Shiyi will provide the anime character designs. Kyohei Matsuno is composing the background music.
The characters will be voiced by (character names first):
Main Cast
Letty (the dragon): Shun Horie
Nell (the elf real estate agent): Kaito Ishikawa
Supporting Cast
Nell: Misato Fukuen
Pip: Shiori Izawa
Based on what I’ve seen from the two short promotional videos released so far, Dragon Goes House-Hunting looks like an adorable comedy that I’ll be able to enjoy for 25 minutes each week. That’s provided the premise doesn’t overstay its welcome, which could make it another series like Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle or As Miss Beelzebub Likes, which were perfectly fine, moe fluff pieces if not slightly repetitive shows.
