With the announcement that Laid Back Camp Season 2 will premiere on January 7th right alongside Non Non Biyori Season 3 on January 11th, that’s a lot of iyashikei that will be unleashed on the world all at once. Not content with just that, however, it’s been reported that Laid Back Camp is also going to enter the virtual world by releasing two VR games this winter!
The games do not have an official release date as of yet, but it is known that they will both be released on PS4, Switch, iOS, Android, and Steam. They will support the PSVR, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and Switch VR. We can also report that they will be released with Japanese audio with the following languages supported in text format: English, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Korean, and French.
We don’t have a lot of details regarding the “games” but we do know that they will be titled Yurucamp Virtual Camp Motosuko-hen (Motosu Lake Version) and Yurucamp Virtual Camp Fumoto Camp Jō-hen (Fumoto Camp Site Version) so I’m assuming that they will just feature the girls doing their relaxing camping thing in these two locations.
Based on the manga created by Afro, the series features a group of girls who grow closer through the hobby of outdoor winter camping. The manga series has been licensed by Yen Press and Crunchyroll licensed the anime.
Laid Back Camp is very much an iyashikei (healing) series with very calm tones and gentle laughs to help you get through your weekly grind. The series opens with a girl named Nadeshiko who passes out after trying to reach Mt. Fuji in the winter. When she wakes up, she finds out that she’s been saved by a girl named Rin who loves to do winter camping on her own as a hobby. The pair instantly become fast friends and begin to share the unique hobby together while making new friends along the way. So far the manga series has ten collected volumes on shelves in Japan.
