I love Japanese mobile games and wish that more of them would appear in English on this side of the ocean. This one, however, might be too weird even for me, which is sad since the intentions behind it are solid. The game that we’re talking about today is another game with cute anime girls who want to hear about your business and I’m not talking about your gripes about your boss. I mean, your personal toilet business.
It’s called UnColle (which combines the Japanese word for “poop”, unko, with “collection”) and instead of shelling out cold hard cash to earn in-game currency, you just have to go to the bathroom and um… report on your deposit to the cute girls within the game by describing the consistency and shape. They’ll then alert you if your poop is showing signs of poor health conditions. Created by the Japan Unko Society (did you know that Japan had a poop society? Neither did I), the game is meant to be educational and raise awareness of colon diseases such as cancer.
As with all gacha games though, you should be aware that there are some collecting and battle elements thrown in along the way, so be ready to defeat some fearsome digestive bacteria along the way.
Interestingly, this isn’t a game that was thrown together willy-nilly but has had articles written about it as far back as 2016. This means that the Unko Society really did their homework with this game and it shows in the over four-star rating that it has received so far on the Google Play store.
Unfortunately, the UnColle game is not currently available in English, but can still be downloaded from both the iOS store and Google Play. So if you’re solid enough with your Japanese, you can enjoy this title, but if your kanji is a bit runny, you might want to wait a while before downloading this to your phone.
