On July 18, 2019, an arsonist set the anime studio’s Kyoto Animation’s 1st Studio building on fire injuring several people and leading to the loss of lives. This tragic disaster is still unfolding as of press time.
Sentai Filmworks, an American licensing company based in Houston, Texas, is going the extra mile to help Kyoto Animation during this hard time. A fundraiser titled Help KyoAni Heal was launched by Sentai Filmworks and as of press time, the fundraiser has a total of $36,851 USD raised of the $500,000 USD target.
